Located in western Jordan, new jordans, the city of Madaba has been famous for its mosaics since antiquity. Once an important Byzantine center, the city is home to the most famous mosaic in Jordan the Madaba Map. The map originally measured 72 feet (22 m) by 23 feet (7 m) and was composed of over 2.3 million colored pieces.
