Shirley Temple Doll Help

Hello,

Is there anyone here who can help/guide me on a Shirley Temple doll? I have emailed this website's webmaster [e-mail] but have had no reply. I have also emailed another site that I found www.allmydolls.com/ and also have not had any reply.

This doll was given to my mother back in the 1930's. I must sell this doll but have no idea on her worth.

My guess is just that if you cant find out what kind of doll she is that she may have just been a prototype. but thats just my guess

Either a prototype/beta or a clone, which was common during Shirley's heyday as not all parents can buy a real doll.

Thank you both for you reply. While I cannot confirm if this doll is a proto or not which is the reason I was trying to get some help here and various other Shirley websites.

Per my Mom she said this doll was a real Shirley and that her parents spent a lot of money for this doll. Again maybe her parents were just saying this to her. I am attaching a few more pic's. I hope she is real as it would be a shame to just toss this in the trash. We are moving soon and this doll cannot come along.

First I would like to say thank you for your replies and checking on the thread I started about my Mother's doll. As for marks I am not sure. The doll is at my Mother's home. I did check one time but did not see anything "however" I did not undress her to see if there were any markings. Not sure exactly where I should be looking. I will check either tomorrow or over the weekend when I go and see Mom. Please check back as I will post my findings.

This is a lovely doll! She definitely looks like an Ideal Shirley Temple to be by the facial mold. What is her height? I'm guessing 25". Her dress looks original too, though I haven't seen that hat before. Also, the shoes have the bow seen on Ideal Shirley Temples, but they had a snap and not a tie. So all and all I'm confused. She really has no markings on her back or on the back of her head (neck area)? Some dolls were not marked ST, but usually had the Ideal trademark. One last thing you could check is on the inside of the head. The very first dolls had a paper tag on the inside of the head.
